Opened in 1999, after major redevelopment of the 4-acre former linen mill site, The Old Green, in Kells near Ballymena, county Antrim, is a family garden centre of excellence. It stocks wide selections of plants, shrubs and trees - many grown in our on-site nursery - as well as a childrens play area and licensed restaurant.

The centre is run by Mervyn and Helen Moon, who already own and manage a successful wholesale business on the same site, Rathkenny Ceramics and Moon Lighting. The Old Green has many unusual features, reflecting the owners' wish to create a family garden centre of excellence, built on quality and service.

Hence, the Centre has children's facilities and a restaurant.
