Berberis thunbergii 'Rose Glow': Prickly, looses its leaves in winter but in late spring and summer leaves are bright purple-red, flecked with creamy-white. Very eye catching for foliage interest. Fully hardy.

Philadelphus 'Manteau d'Hermine': Mock Orange. Produces double, very fragrant, creamy white flowers early to midsummer. Looses its mid-green leaves during winter. Fully hardy. 1m H x 1.5m.
 
Euonymus europaeus 'Red Cascade': Spindle. Beautiful tall and slender in its autumn colours. Leaves turn a fiery red, deep rose pink seed heads split open to reveal bright orange seeds. Fully hardy. 3m H x 2m.  
Spiraea japonica 'Anthony Waterer': Clusters of small rosy-red flowers from mid- to late summer above dark green leaves which are bronze-red when young. The foliage is lost during winter. Fully hardy. 1m H x 1m.

Potentilla fruticosa 'Goldfinger': Compact, bushy and deciduous with saucer-shaped deep yellow flowers from late spring to early autumn.  
Potentilla fruticosa 'Red Ace': Compact, bushy and deciduous with saucer-shaped orange-red flowers from late spring to early autumn.  
Hypericum 'Hidcote': Bushy semi-evergreen which bears large cup-shaped flowers of deep yellow summer to early autumn. Suitable for making a low informal hedge. Fully hardy. 1.2m H x1.2m.  
Perovskia 'Blue Spire': Very attractive, deciduous, brings a variety of colour to the border. Silver-grey foliage and stems. Spikes of violet-blue flowers from summer to early autumn Fully hardy. 1.2m H x 1.2m.

Caryopteris x clandonensis 'Worcestershire Gold': Blue Spiraea. Deciduous, attractive pointed golden yellow leaves. Blue flowers at the tips of the new growth from midsummer to autumn Fully hardy. 1.2m H x 1.2.
